Ateme’s NEA helps CANAL+ transform VOD-to-live workflow as part of TV+ launch

CANAL+ has been using Ateme’s NEA solutions to power its new TV+ streaming service, which offers over 80 live and catch-up TV channels and a selection of SVOD content. The studio and channel owner is leveraging NEA for its VOD-to-Live workflow “in order to completely transform the OTT channel creation and distribution workflow”.

CANAL+ can repurpose linear and VOD content from its many channels for TV+. NEA provides support for manifest manipulation and dynamic ad insertion, among other things.

“With the launch of this new service, CANAL+ is positioning itself, even more than ever, as the reference in terms of content aggregation – in particular by using our own large content portfolio to launch new channels,” says Philippe Rivas, Platform Engineering Manager at CANAL+. “The NEA solution we co-created ensures smooth and efficient workflow operations. It totally reinvents the way you build and distribute OTT channels while maintaining a high quality of end-user experience.”

This collaboration continues a long-standing partnership between CANAL+ and Ateme. Remi Beaudouin, Chief Strategy Officer at Ateme, comments: “The TV industry is undergoing significant changes, and CANAL+ consistently demonstrates its ability to adapt to these changes and provide new ways of consuming video content.”

CANAL+ Group has 26.4 million subscribers worldwide, including 17.1 million in Europe and 8.1 million in Africa. It is the largest shareholder in both MultiChoice and Viaplay and the company invests EUR 3.5 billion euros in content every year.
